The Free State of Bavaria currently has 36 correctional facilities (22 self -employed and 14 affiliated institutions). The management of the entire Bavarian prison lies with the Bavarian State Ministry of the Justice (Department F). Around 12, 000 are in the Bavarian correctional facilitiesPick -up places set up. The actual occupancy has developed differently in recent years. In 2024 the average occupancy was 9, 648 prisoners.The Bavarian correctional facilities are also detained in which there are not insignificant communication difficulties due to the lack of knowledge of the German and English language. Communication problems often occur in non -predictable situations andrequire short -term remedies.
