VE434 Refrigeration systems Refrigeration technology is divided into two areas. The two server rooms are supplied by two cooling centers on the roof, BTA and BTB. Here there is an A and B supply with two cooling machines of 160kW each a dry cooler with 160kW. The systems work with the refrigerant R290 and the medium glycol. The building is cooled by three chillers with 550kW each, with one machine representing redundancy. There is a dry cooler for winter operation with 300kW available. The units are located on the south side of the building next to the gas storage and also use R290. In total we have 6 standing climate cabinets (4 x 85kW with humidifier and 2 x 80kW without humidifier) for the servers and 82 ULK (up to 15kw). There are two distributors in the headquarters through which all ventilation devices and air conditioning systems are supplied. Two heat exchangers, each with an output of 1, 100 kW, switch from the medium glycol to water and buffer in a 12, 000 liter storage tank.
