The Friedrich Schiller University Jena is planning to purchase a vapor HF etching system to release highly sensitive photonic crystals that are suspended on silicon threads with the smallest but well-defined spring constant and almost 100% Enable reflection. These elements levitate on a laser beam; Low-noise power control is made possible via interferometric position determination and electro-optical actuators. The technology is used to develop new ones optomechanical systems etc. with future use in the Einstein Telescope (ET), a European gravitational wave observatory.
