vhh.mobility has developed the CUSTOM app as part of a funding project from the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg - a barrier-free assistance app for local public transport in the greater Hamburg area, which is based on the "two-sense principle" and supports people with visual impairments. and hearing impairments enable independent and safe access to passenger information. The app went into regular operation at the beginning of 2025. As part of the current three-year funding project of the European Urban Initiative (EUI, project reference number EUI03-134-CUSTOM), the CUSTOM app is to be systematically further developed and expanded to the entire hvv network. The Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg acts as the funding recipient. The project consortium includes: vhh.mobility, as the leading company, includes Hamburger Hochbahn AG, S-Bahn Hamburg GmbH, HADAG Seetouristik und Fährdienst AG, the Technical University of Hamburg and Dialoghaus Hamburg gGmbH.
