On an industrially used area in Hamburg's Elbe Valley there is locally limited contamination in the soil and in the groundwater near the surface (backwater) with the main pollutants chlorobenzenes, HCH and chlorophenols. Data for a final risk assessmentetching on the entry of pollutants into surface water were difficult to determine due to a complicated sampling situation on an embankment. The tasks include a conceptual site model, a final risk assessment and a remediation feasibility study.
