Contains the additive ionol. Has improved stability against oxidation, has low content of sulfur compounds, low dielectric loss tangent. Recommended for use in electrical equipment with voltages up to 500 kV and higher. Transformer oils are used for filling power and measuring transformers, reactor equipment, as well as oil circuit breakers; in the latter devices, oils perform the functions of an arc-extinguishing medium II-standard. The electrical insulating properties of oil are determined mainly by the dielectric loss tangent. The dielectric strength of transformer oils is mainly determined by the presence of fibers and water, so mechanical impurities and water in the oils must be completely absent. A low pour point of oils (-45 °C and below) is necessary to preserve them mobility at low temperatures. To ensure effective heat removal, transformer oils must have the lowest viscosity at a flash point of at least 95, 125, 135 and 150 °C for different brands.
