The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations with more than 190 member countries. Since its inception, FAO has worked to improve nutrition, increase agricultural productivity, raise the standard of living in rural populations and contribute to global economic growth. Achieving food security for all is at the heart of FAO's efforts - to make sure people have regular access to enough high-quality food to lead active, healthy lives. As part of this effort, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), intends to pre-qualify a group of organizations in a timely manner, and potentially solicit proposals from them shortly thereafter. The project is being implemented in the Northern Ghana, with focus on six (6) most food insecure districts selected from the North-East, Upper East and Savanna regions and targeting 10, 000 direct beneficiaries including smallholder crop and livestock producers, especially women, youth and people living with disability.
