ASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this study is to develop and implement credible methodologies for evaluating the economic, environmental and social impacts of IFCs intervention in Guineas mining sector. Specifically, the study will assess quantitatively and qualitatively the economic, social and environmental impacts IFC`s intervention in the mining sector in Guinea through its investments and advisory services.
The final report will:
(a) deepen our understanding of the economic, environmental impacts of our investments in the mining sector in Guinea;
(b) leverage findings for improving IFCs project design and implementation;
(d) leverage findings for improving client business decisions (e.g., how to strengthen linkages locally);
(e) identify and analyze those impacts which are most relevant to our clients ensuring we send the right messages and use the right language in communicating the impacts of our work;
(f) communicate IFC and client impacts and relevant business intelligence, derived from the case-studies, to key stakeholders (including clients); and
(g) demonstrate thought leadership in this space, for the benefit of private-sector, public sector, and DFI actors who also wish to estimate relevant impacts.

The World Bank Group now invites eligible firms to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested firms must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc. for firms; CV and cover letter for individuals). Please note that the total size of all attachments should be less than 5MB. Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications.

NOTES
Following this invitation for Expression of Interest, a shortlist of qualified firms will be formally invited to submit proposals. Shortlisting and selection will be subject to the availability of funding.
Only those firms which have been shortlisted will receive notification. No debrief will be provided to firms which have not been shortlisted.
