Genesis In total, the Erzgebirge/Krušnohoří mining region is made up of 22 components. 17 components are located on the Saxon side and five on the Czech side of the Ore Mountains. The components provide a comprehensive insight into the Extraction and processing of the most important raw materials. They document the mining technologies of the main mining periods up to the closure of the last mines around 1990. Together they convey the perception of a historical period shaped by mining Cultural landscape. The main basis for the entry of the cross-border cultural landscape of the Ore Mountains/Krušnohoří mining region in the UNESCO World Heritage List is the declaration of outstanding universal value adopted by the World Heritage Committee (Statement of Outstanding Universal Value, OUV). The OUV underlies all 22 components. In addition to the components, so-called associated objects in the Erzgebirge/Krušnohoří mining region represent other important aspects of mining history Heritage and play an important role in a comprehensive picture of developments, including mining influences that extend beyond the ore mining landscapes.
