Tender Details

Expression of Interest are invited for Consultant’s Services to Conduct Economic Statistics Data Collection, Analysis, Production of Consumer Price Index and Capacity Building of the Directorate of National Statistics (DNS) and Statistical Departments in Federal Member States (FMSs).

The Federal Republic of Somalia through the Ministry of Finance has received financing from the African Development Bank towards the cost of Strengthening Institution for Economic Policy Management and Infrastructure Development Project (SIEPMID) and intends to apply part of the grant amount to payments under the contract for Consultant’s Services to Conduct Economic Statistics Data Collection, Analysis, Production of Consumer Price Index (CPI) and Capacity Building of the Directorate of National Statistics (DNS) and Statistical Departments in Federal Member States (FMS)

The Services included under this project are:

• Fieldwork data collection for economic statistics to compile and disseminate monthly CPI and GDP for Directorate of National Statistics and Federal Member States (FMSs).

• Conduct trainings and establish technical working group for CPI.

• Training of staff on computer network maintenance and produce troubleshooting guidelines.

• Installation of the Africa Development Bank (AfDB) Africa Information Highway as a data management and dissemination tool for the National Statistical System.

• Production of tabulation, plots and using SPSS for Economic Statistics Products.

Estimated Duration of the Assignment is 12 months.

The Federal Republic of Somalia through the Ministry of Finance now invites eligible consulting firms to indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested firms must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may constitute joint-ventures to enhance their chances of qualification.

Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the African Development Bank’s “Procurement Framework for Bank GroupFunded Operations Consultants” dated October 2015, which is available on the Bank’s website at http://www.afdb.org.
