The ekom21 - Municipal Regional Computing Center Hessen is a corporation under public law in accordance with the Hessian Data Processing Association Act (DV-VerbundG). It is the central IT service provider for the Hessian municipalities and their facilities. From the locations in Giessen, Darmstadt and Kassel It provides your end customers with comprehensive, modern information and communication services (ICT) of all kinds.
Among the approximately 500 members in Hesse and other customers nationwide include approximately 29, 000 end users from local governments and other public institutions, such as: b. counties, Cities, municipalities, municipal companies, special purpose associations, institutions, hospitals and homes. In the state sector, ekom21 looks after numerous state associations, ministries and regional councils. In total, ekom21 provides services for six million citizens.
The range of tasks of the ekom21 is constantly growing and changing, which is accompanied by a constant increase in the number of employees. ekom21 currently employs around 850 people.
In the next few years, ekom21 - KGRZ Hessen expects a further increased need for technical advice in this context with digitalization in the Hessian municipalities.
