The Roehrigschacht Wettelrode Mining Experience Center as a show mine with the museum buildings, an open area and the heap above ground as well as the underground guide route houses outstanding industrial buildings and facilities related to copper slate mining, which has been around for over 800 yearswas operated for years in the Mansfelder Mulde and the Sangerhauser district. These buildings as well as the open space and dump with the objects located on them (Thomas Muentzer shaft machine hall and pavilion) are to be renovated in the interests of optimized, barrier-free public accessbe built or redesigned and modernized. The aim of this investment project is to anchor the Roehrigschacht Wettelrode Mining Experience Center as a site of industrial heritage in the region and to establish it as a beacon among the local tourism destinations. The proposed measurese contribute to preserving the industrial heritage of copper slate mining in the Mansfeld-Suedharz district and to developing a living cultural monument on the Roehrigschacht that appeals to a wide range of target groups of all ages. This includes not only the local populationand day tourists as well as trade visitors. In particular, families with children and people who are active in their free time should be addressed about the Roehrigschacht and the various measures in the area of industrial culture.
