Expression of Interest are invited for Supply of Solar Fridges and Electric Cookers.

1 Background:

Energizing Development-EnDev is a program implemented in more than 20 countries and on three continents (Africa, Asia and Latin America) by the German Development Cooperation (GIZ) on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), whose objective is to ensure that “the inhabitants of the project region have better access to a sustainable, modern, reliable, affordable, socially responsible and environmentally friendly energy supply”.

As part of the promotion of renewable energies, the project signed a memorandum of understanding with the World Food Program and Plan International for the implementation of a pilot project in two schools in the prefecture of Kissidougou.

The E-HGSF (Energizing Home-Grown School Feeding) project initiated by the WFP is an innovative approach aimed at integrating energy services into school canteens and which aims to improve food storage and cooking conditions. This pilot project will be implemented to test the durability and functionality of the proposed infrastructure, energy scheme, switchgear, before potential scaling up in the future.

EnDev being in charge of the energy component, this document sets the terms for the acquisition and installation of photovoltaic systems in two pilot schools in the prefecture of Kissidougou.

2 Objective:

The general objective is to select a supplier or suppliers of solar fridges, electric high pressure cookers (EPC) and improved stoves, with the aim of providing these items with a guarantee and after-sales service.

Specifically:

3 Modalities:

The company sought must be established in Guinea, of great renown and have good experience with companies and international institutions in the field of cooperation. They must be structured, and also have a staff of quality and good character.

GIZ will establish, on the basis of the responses to this call for expressions of interest, a shortlist of companies to which a tender dossier will be sent, including the terms of reference for this study, for submission of a technical offer and financial.

GIZ invites interested companies, qualified in the field to express their interest by attaching to the expression of interest file at least the documents below:
