About Access to Finance Rwanda (AFR)

AFR is a Rwandan not for Profit organization, established in March 2010 by the governments of the United Kingdom (UK) and Rwanda and with support from the UK Department for International Development (DFID), and the World Bank. Existing funders of AFR include DFID, The MasterCard Foundation, Sweden and USAID. AFR’s strategic focus is stimulating financial sector development by partnering with financial institutions and other stakeholders to increase access to and use of financial services. We identify and address constraints that prevent the financial market from reaching Rwanda’s low-income population, and promote innovations and learning that result in sustainable change in the financial sector. Improving access to financial services for the rural poor and women is a particular focus.

About the Project of automation of Non-Umurenge SACCOs, COOPEC and MFIs to improve efficiencies in the provision of financial services to low-income people.

The Government of Rwanda (GoR) in its various development programs has underlined the strategic role played by SACCOs and MFIs in providing financial services to low-income people however these SACCOs face numerous challenges including operating under a manual system that is prone to fraud and errors.

AFR in its phase two has secured funding to support SACCOs and MFIs to automate their operations, part of the funds will be used to buy and install and configure severs at AOS data center.

AFR would, therefore, like to procure and install servers and related equipment for implementation of the automation project.
