Supply of blood and blood products In order to supply patients with blood products at the UKJ, they must be purchased from approved manufacturers, as the in-house production of blood products for the supply of patients at the UKJ is not possible is sufficient. In order to ensure a needs-based supply of blood and blood products to the Jena University Hospital (UKJ), the procurement/delivery of the following blood products is offered: - 25, 000 packed red cells/year - 4, 0000 pooled Platelet concentrates/year - Platelet concentrates from apheresis and therapeutic plasma in small quantities as required with daily delivery. Delivery of partial quantities is permitted. The blood products delivered should be as follows Meet age specification: - 70% of the delivered erythrocyte concentrates should not have exceeded the half-use-by date. This means that with a shelf life of 42 days, the permitted remaining shelf life must be 21 days - 30% of that Erythrocyte concentrates must be delivered fresh, i.e. h. not older than 7 days after donation. These erythrocyte concentrates should be CMV and Kell negative. - Pooled platelet concentrates in the consignment warehouse should not be older than 2 days.
