SPECIFICATION FOR ETHANOL COOKING GEL
Supply and deliver of 400 x 10 litres of gel
The ethanol gel shall not contain any substance or preparation classified as toxic,
corrosive, oxidizing, sensitizing or carcinogenic in accordance with SANS 10234
The ethanol gel shall be free from any odors.
The gel shall burn with a clean flame and be soot free.
The ethanol used to make the ethanol gel shall be denatured with a denaturant
approved by the South African Revenue Services.
The ethanol content of the gel (expressed as 100% ethanol) shall be less than a mass
fraction of 80%.
The ethanol gel shall ignite readily and shall burn steadily, without flaring, sudden
deflagrations, sparking, spitting, popping, dripping or explosion, from ignition until it
has burned to extinction.
The ethanol gel should be capable of boiling a liter of water to 90 degrees in not more
than 20 minutes.
An SABS test report should accompany all applications.
Service provider to deliver at distribution site which will be identified by user
department and assist with distribution over 2 days.
