Startup Challenges Schwedt: “Sustainable materials in the process industry” ATTENTION pre-commercial contract award (PCP) The city of Schwedt/Oder is the industrial center in the northeast of Brandenburg and provides over 3, 000 jobs in the Mineral oil processing, paper production and refining of regional biomass, including a three-digit number of companies providing services for industrial companies. What is now important is the transition to a sustainable, to create climate-neutral and circular industrial value creation. Schwedt has two very CO2-intensive industrial sectors: mineral oil processing and paper production. Because in Schwedt primary before January 1st, 2023 Russian oil was processed, there is another regional peculiarity here that leads to increased pressure for transformation. With the Startup Challenges, we are creating a framework for working on concrete solutions to design the industrial change in Schwedt, but also beyond.
