Specialist planning technical equipment M The LMU Munich intends to renovate the building's façade and roof to make it more energy efficient and to replace the oil heating system with a water-to-water heat pump. The two-story, listed Art Nouveau villa (1, 711 sqm Gross floor area) with 50 spacious rooms and a central entrance hall was built in 1908/09 by the architects Schaffner and Albert on a park site. The villa was technically state-of-the-art at the time and was, above all, artistically valuable designed. Recognizable interventions took place in the 1950s and in the 1990s. From this point on, the building was used by the Ludwig Maximilian University for the Center for Applied Policy Research (CAP). The construction project is funded with ERDF funds (European Regional Development Fund, IBW Bavaria Program 2021-2027, measure type 2.1 Energy efficiency in state infrastructure). These measures reduce the primary energy requirement by around 50%. This is the prerequisite for enabling the building to be supplied with energy using a monovalent water-water heat pump, while retaining the radiators, some of which are integrated into the historical wall cladding. The required ones, diagonally offset Wells are possible on the property and the geological conditions are promising despite the proximity to the high banks of the Isar.
