The structural development at the Evangelisches Klinikum Gelsenkirchen (EVK for short) is an important building block in the concept planning for the “Mental Health Campus”. The new psychiatric building is the first building block in this development. Today There are five wards with 21 beds each. There is an additional need for 73 fully inpatient beds. The existing areas have a large space deficit. Some rooms, especially conversation and examination rooms Treatment rooms are used twice.
