Fraunhofer IIS, Department of Electronic Measurement and Signal Processing in Ilmenau, Germany is implementing a test environment for cellular network testing. This environment will support tests of multiple cellular networking components in the RF frequency range of 450 MHz - 6 GHz. The devices to be tested (device-under-test, DUT) will be network-side equipment (e.g. base stations (BS), eNodeB (eNB)) or user equipment (UE) like smartphones, tablets (15 inch display), laptops or personal radio systems. For the measurements, the DUTs should be able to be shielded from the environment and from each other to eliminate interfering signals and create optimal conditions for the reproducibility of tests. For this purpose, up to 11 x RFshielded test enclosures are to be procured. The requirements for those enclosures differ between BS and UE applications, and are accordingly split into separate lots.
