The Wolfenbüttel District Business Enterprises (WLW) and their Wolfenbüttel District Waste Management Division (ALW) operate the Bornum landfill at the site of the Bornum disposal and recycling center. The district's businesses Wolfenbüttel (WLW) intend to outsource the operation of leachate treatment as a service. Service contract for the cleaning of landfill leachate The Wolfenbüttel District Business Enterprises (WLW) operate with their operating area Waste management district of Wolfenbüttel (ALW) at the site of the Bornum disposal and recycling center the Bornum landfill. The leachate from the landfill, including domestic wastewater generated at the landfill and water from composting and paved areas have been cleaned in a leachate treatment plant (SWRA) since 1996 with the aim of discharging it directly into the Oker receiving water. The existing leachate purification system is the property of WLW. The current service contract for The operation of the leachate purification system will expire on June 16, 2026. The Wolfenbüttel District Business Enterprises (WLW) intend to once again outsource the further operation of the leachate treatment as a service.
