Tender Details

Context: In Mauritania, child marriage is a practice rooted in a complex interweaving of socio-economic and cultural factors. Historically, this phenomenon has been influenced by traditions and social norms that value early marriage as a means of strengtheninghe family and community ties, to protect family honor, or to respond to economic imperatives. Poverty plays a crucial role, often early marriage is seen as a strategy to reduce the economic burden on families. The impact of this practice on society ist deep and multidimensional, particularly affecting the health, education and rights of girls. Early marriage often leads to the cessation of girls' education, limiting their employment opportunities and their ability to fully contribute to economic and social development. VShealth implications, young brides are more likely to experience complications during pregnancy and childbirth, with their health and that of their children at risk. The first phase of the Deenka project marked a significant turning point in the fight against child marriage inMauritania. Thanks to awareness-raising and education initiatives, the project succeeded in raising awareness of the harmful consequences of this practice. Effective campaigns have been carried out, targeting both local communities and decision-makers, to promote women's education.and strengthen children's rights. These successes have created a solid foundation for the second phase of the project, which aims to deepen the impact and extend the reach of previous initiatives. The growing recognition of the problem by Mauritanian society and the increased desire to change thehe traditional norms and practices are witnesses to the effectiveness of the first phase of Deenka, paving the way for even more significant advances. The second edition of the Deenka project is focused on raising collective consciousness and mobilizing concrete actions againstchild marriage in Mauritania. This project aims to deepen understanding of the negative impacts of early marriage, not only on girls directly affected, but also on society as a whole. This initiative closely aligns with national and international goals.ional standards on children's rights and gender equality. By promoting the education and empowerment of girls, the Deenka project directly contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, in particular Goal 5 on gender equality and Goal 4 on 'quality education. Likewise, it is part of Mauritania's national efforts to improve the living conditions of children and promote gender equality, in accordance with its international commitments. For this, UNICEF Mauritania calls on a communications agencyn to organize this launch event of the second phase of the project at the central level which would make it possible to disseminate the importance of the messages carried by this project and give it the necessary visibility through fairly broad media coverage but also the involvement of the wholehe stakeholders.Concept: The concept of this event, organized by UNICEF Mauritania, is to celebrate the resilience and courage of young Mauritanian girls who have overcome early marriage at the central level: Nouakchott (Central Level): This evening will highlight before an exhibition ofphotographic portraits telling the stories of these courageous girls. At the same time, a short film competition will engage Mauritanian youth, using art as a means of awareness and critical reflection. The event aims to use art as a powerful tool to denouncencance early marriages, while raising awareness and mobilizing the community. The objective is to create a space for exchange, reflection and inspiration, thus strengthening the fight against this practice. Activities: Central level (Nouakchott): This evening will begin with a presentation of the results ofe the first phase, followed by speeches from key partners. An exhibition of photographic portraits will highlight stories of resilience in the face of early marriage. The announcement of a short film competition will encourage the participation of young people. The gala will conclude with a cocktail, offeringnt a space for dialogue and networking, consolidating commitment to the fight against child marriage. Objective: The communications agency (service provider) will ensure the organization of the event as well as the development and production of communication tools including portraits (photobones and stories) of young girls by providing a professional photographer artist whose choice will be made in consultation with UNICEF, but will also manage the logistics relating to the event.
