As part of the construction work in sub-area 1a, the areas on the banks of the Spree will be redesigned. The bank area is accessible barrier-free with a ramp made of natural stone slabs. A large step system made of natural stone creates a new entrance to the banks of the Spree. This consists of a total of 11 individual structures in which the steps sit and are supported on a supporting beam structure made of reinforced concrete. To the northwest of the town hall bridge, one of the planned stairs creates a short connection between Spree banks and Rathausstrasse. The areas on the banks of the Spree will be covered with natural stone slabs. Mist nozzles are integrated into parts of the paved area. There are numerous on the upper Spreeweg as a so-called promenade made of natural stone paving and along the banks of the Spree Pole lights with spotlights provided. The unpaved areas will be extensively greened with perennials and seeds, and 50 trees will also be planted in the embankment area and in the square area on the banks of the Spree. The technical infrastructure includes the Laying drinking, dirty and rainwater pipes with the corresponding shaft structures.
