1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for this project that appeared in United Nations Development Business online (UNDB online) dated on November 08th, 2016 and on the African Development Bank Group-s Internet Website (www.afdb.org).
2. The Government of Republic of Angola has received Financing from the African Development Bank towards the cost of Science and Technology Development Project (STDP). It is intended that part of the proceeds of this loan will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for Secondary schools- laboratories equipment, including its installation and the training of users.
3. The STDP now invites sealed bids from eligible Potential Suppliers for the supply of laboratory (physics, chemistry and biology) equipment (instruments, furniture, tools and materials), including its installation and the training (operation and maintenance) of users (technicians, teachers, etc.) for 18 secondary schools (3 laboratories per school, a total of 54 laboratories), one per province, as per the requirements set in the Bidding Document Section VI.

4. This International Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with the Bank`s Rules and Procedures for Procurement of Goods and Works, Dated May 2008 and Revised July 2012.

6. A complete set of bidding documents may be obtained (free of charge) by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the e-mail or, exceptionally, to the address indicated above.
7. The provisions in the Instructions to Bidders and in the General Conditions are the provisions of the African Development Bank Standard Bidding Document: Procurement of Goods, dated September 2010 and Revised February 2018.
8. Bids must be delivered to the above office on or before 10:00 (local time) on 6 October 2020.
9. The bid must include a bid security, using the form of a Bank Guarantee, whose template is included in Section IV, Bidding Forms, in the amount of USD 40, 000 or AOA equivalent.
10. Bids shall remain valid for 120 days after the deadline for bid submission prescribed above or any amendments thereof.
