Expression of Interest (EOI) are invited for 5 Scientific Research Prizes - ANPN Arc Emerald - Gabon.
PURPOSE Through this call for expressions of interest, the National Agency of National Parks of Gabon proposes to adopt a shortlist of qualified consultants who will be bidding for the implementation of targeted research five lots, defined as part of the research strategy of the Emerald Arc. 2. ALLOTMENT The services are divided into five lots: Lot 1: Development of a hydro sedimentary circulation model in the area of ​​the Arc Emerald; Lot 2: Analysis of pollutants from urbanization and industrial activities and their impacts on the environment; Lot 3: Analysis of the fish productivity of the Komo estuary and Mondah; Lot 4: Economic Evaluation of ecological services provided by coastal ecosystems; Lot 5: Establish a system of coordination and promotion of research, especially for scientific animations, educational, capacity building, and university education. 3. QUALIFICATION CRITERIA Pursuant to the provisions of Articles 71 to 73 of the Public Contracts Code, bidders must justify, for the purposes of contract award, their legal, technical and financial. 5. BACKGROUND AND DESCRIPTION OF EXPECTATIONS ANPN 5.1. Context of the call for expressions of interest The National Agency of National Parks (ANPN) mandate is the conservation, development and management of National Parks and protected areas under its responsibility. To achieve the objectives assigned to it, ANPN develops collaborations with various national institutions, scientific partners, technical and international capital, and may call for the lines of business, to external consultations, national or international . The ANPN implements the Arc Emerald program, defined in the years 2011 and 2012 and funded on the basis of the debt conversion agreement between France and Gabon. This program aims to improve the scientific knowledge and effective management, the development and enhancement ecotourism and territorial integration in the long term of the three protected areas located around Libreville, namely: National Parks Akanda and Pongara and Arboretum Raponda Walker. ANPN expectations regarding the production of knowledge through research A lot 1, The ANPN wishes to have a model of hydrologic and sediment movement to i) understand the hydro-sedimentary functioning of estuaries and Mondah Komo; ii) locate the most sensitive sectors and threatened by erosion, accidental pollution (oil spill) and chronic pollution (domestic sewage, industrial and agricultural); iii) develop a representation and animation tool for use by protected area managers, technical services of the Agency, researchers and research teams on hydrological and sediment migration flow into estuaries and Komo Mondah. The research Lot 2 relates to the characterization and quantification of effluents (domestic, industrial and agricultural), their cycles and their persistence in ecosystems, and their potential impacts on coastal environments from the Arc d ' Emerald and the living organisms that inhabit them, and risks to the health of human populations. This study will help assess threats short, medium and long term for ecosystems emerald Arc. ANPN expectations concerning scientific partnerships and enhancement of work Selected teams will have references consistent with the proposed disciplines and techniques (published cases of application and / or related scientific publication).
