The purpose of this request for information is to obtain background information for a later tender, and this is not yet a procurement announcement. The Finnish Environmental Center Syke is acquiring in connection with his research that is about to start, a service that includes meeting pregnant mothers and babies under one year old in the reception area, collecting data on a form, collecting biological samples (blood, nasal mucus, urine and collecting breast milk) from them, receiving samples collected at home, sample preprocessing and other tasks related to the collection and short-term storage of biological sample material. There are approximately 500-650 pregnant mothers in the birth cohort and their unborn children. The collection of samples takes place in the area of ​​Uusimaa municipalities. Most likely the municipalities are Helsinki, Vantaa, Espoo, Kauniainen, Kirkkonummi. Changing some municipalities to others or omitting some can be considered by the service provider according to the operating area. The collection of samples is planned to take place between September 1, 2026 and August 31, 2028. The start may be delayed by a few months by the service provider or Syke. The collection of biological samples must take place in the reception area or -in facilities located in easily accessible central locations in the research area.
