RWANDA MEAT VALUE CHAIN TRADE COMPETITVENESS PROJECT

GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE

1. Introduction

The Government of Rwanda has received a Grant of CAD 1, 459, 727 from the African Development Bank through the Africa Trade Fund (AfTRA) to finance the Rwanda Meat Value Chain Trade Competitiveness Project.

2. Objective of the Project

The principal objective of this project is to increase the contribution of the meat value chain in Rwanda-s economy by improving and expanding the meat value chain and improving cross-border and market trade in the sector. The project will use the Government of Rwanda Public Procurement methods and procedures for this project.

3. Components of the Project

The project includes the following components: (a) enhancing the competitiveness of the meat value chain by strengthening the institutional and regulatory framework in the sector; (b) enhancing the capacity of private sector actors in the value chain; and (c) increasing crossborder trade (CBT) and exports through market linkages.

4. Procurement of goods and/or services will be in accordance with the Procurement Policy for Bank Group Funded Operations, dated October 2015, and particularly using the Rwanda Public Procurement Law N°62/2018, dated 25/08/2018, Law governing public procurement. Bidding and Request for Proposal documents are expected to be available in (October 2020).
