Assignment Description

The World Bank is seeking an experienced Consultant/ Non-Government Organization (NGO) to provide technical assistance to the Dar es Salaam Local Authorities (DLAs) and Tanzania Rural and Urban Roads Agency (TARURA) with a design-stage Road Safety Audit.

The aim of the exercise is to identify public safety risks along upcoming road packages so that, where possible, the design can be altered to reduce such risks, before the infrastructure is built and becomes operational. These packages are:

(i) Nzasa Kilungule Buza (7.6km) (Package 14, Temeke Municipal Council);
(ii) Magomeni Urafiki including overpass across Kawawa road (7.3km) (Package 8, Kinondoni Municipal Council);
(iii) Muhimbili referral hospital roads and Mwanamboka (9.1km) (Package 9, Kinondoni Municipal Council); and
(iv) Ulongoni Bangulo Kinyerezi road (7.5km) (Package 7, Ilala Municipal Council).
