Initial situation:

The harbor school is a primary school located in the old town center of Schierstein, close to the Schierstein harbor, with currently around 200 students and increasing prognosis up to 3 classes. It is an all-day school in profile 1 in the state and offers lunch and student care from Monday to Friday from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and follow-up care until 5 p.m.

The school location is a listed buildingztes classroom building, an extension from the 1950s, a pavilion with a small cafeteria from 2018 and a gymnasium that is too small for the size of the school. The care is currently located at the school's second location, the Fritz-Bruederlein-Haus on Saarstrasse.

Targetis that school and childcare will be housed at a common location in the future and that children will not have to leave the school location to get to childcare. Due to the legal entitlement to full-day care decided by the federal government, this will only exist in the 2026/27 school yearonce again a legal right to all-day care for primary school children.
