Rendsburg: VMA precipitants The Rendsburg Wastewater Disposal (ABWRD) operates the Rendsburg sewage treatment plant with a capacity of 240, 000 inhabitants. Wastewater treatment in larger municipal sewage treatment plants such as in Rendsburg (size class 5) is currently carried out in three Steps. On average, over 95% of the organic compounds are removed through mechanical, biological and chemical processes. At the sewage treatment plant, high levels of o-PO4-P occur in the digested sludge due to the biological phosphorus elimination concentrations. Particularly in the sludge dewatering area converted to high-performance centrifuges, this can lead to precipitation of MAP (magnesium ammonium phosphate), which in turn can cause operational problems. To protect the A vacuum degassing system (VE) with integrated magnesium chloride dosing for MAP precipitation is therefore installed in the dewatering systems. In terms of process technology, the vacuum degassing is arranged behind the digester and before the sludge dewatering. To A new sludge storage facility is built to store the degassed sludge before dewatering. Furthermore, as part of the renovation work, a precipitant metering system will be installed in the ozone reactor outlet.
