Quotation are invited for Rehabilitation works at the Gatare- Mukungu Pico Hydropower Pilot project.

We have built a long-term, local presence in 38 developing nations in Asia, Africa, and Latin America, providing innovative solutions in Agriculture, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, and Renewable Energy. SNV has been working in Rwanda for more than 35 years to improve people’s livelihoods by strengthening the capacities of public and private sector organisations. SNV works in full alignment with Rwanda’s development agenda. It does so by helping to realize the national development goals in three sectors above mentioned.
Background
The Netherlands Development Organization (SNV) is implementing a project on Development of Pico-Hydro Sector in Rwanda (DPHER) funded by the Kingdom of Belgium through the Agence Wallonne de l’Air et du Climat (AWAC) with technical assistance from JLA Hydro a Belgium based company specialized in manufacturing of hydroelectric equipment and development of hydropower plants.
The aim of the project is contribute to the developing the Pico-hydropower sector in Rwanda through strengthening the capacity of local entrepreneurs who design, install or run quality pico hydropower plants
Main objective:
The project aims at improving the living conditions of rural population by increased access to Renewable Energy through the development of pico hydro electricity generation projects.
Specific objectives:
Develop in-depth trainings of local entrepreneurs in the Pico-hydropower sector (site identification, pico hydro project design, turbine manufacture; and plants operation and maintenance).

Strengthen and create sustainable jobs in the Pico-hydropower sector.

Support setting up a local turbine manufacturing industry in Rwanda.

Increase access to sustainable electricity for rural populations through the development of Pico-hydropower connected to mini-grids projects with a possibility of linking to the grid when needed.

Eligibility Criteria
Company registered with RDB

Presentation of the RRA tax clearance certificate

Experience in development of pico hydropower projects

Having At least 3 Engineers (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) who attended at least 2 trainings in Pico Hydropower Trainingand have been previously involved in development of Pico Hydropower Projects,

Experience in manufacturing and assembling hydro-electrical equipment assemble turbine and power control boards,

Possession of high precision electronic flow measurement instruments,

Possession of topographical instruments,

Possession of electrical measurement tools.

Tentative timeline for the works execution
The assignment will need to be completed between 1st February and 31stMarch 2018.
