The increase in energy efficiency has a key role in the success of the energy transition in Germany. The legislator has commissioned the Federal Office of Energy Efficiency (BFEE) in the Federal Office for Economics and Export Control (BAFA), in the following client (AG), by Energy Service Performance Act (EDL-G) to support the Federal Government in increasing energy efficiency . According to § 9 No. 5 EDL-G, the BFEE is responsible for observing and evaluating the market for energy services, energy audits and other energy efficiency measures (EDL market). With the introduction of the Energy Efficiency Act, in September 2023, in particular, potential for the development of the EDL market, the contribution to achieving energy and climate goals and existing obstacles will also be analyzed regularly in the future.
