In Mali, child labor (boys and girls) is not a new practice. Numerous studies carried out over the past few decades clearly show that child labor, as a consciously planned economic activity to generate income, is practiced in all eight regions of Mali as well as in the Bamako District, also in rural areas although in an urban environment.
