Guinea has embarked on the path of promoting the blue economy in order to make the most of its maritime resources (and other bodies of water), this, with a view to sustainable development. The stakes are considerable considering the importance of its maritime domain. Studies carried out in this context (measurement of good ecological status, planningmaritime space, innovations in the marine sector, etc.) are essential to allow the development of a National Blue Economy Strategy called to identify solid and structuring programs and projects, intended for national authorities including the private sector. Based on the observation that good governance is a condition for the success of everythinghe policy to promote the Blue Economy, the issue of coastal land and the creation of an innovative and inclusive system, equivalent to a Coastal Conservatory, is an acute one in Guinea. This possibility was raised during the national workshop of the blue economy as a possible structure dedicated to the integrated management of the land ofcoastal areas, capable of providing effective support to the Blue Economy, in particular by acting as an interface between the central services of the State, the decentralized and decentralized services. Such a structure would indeed make it possible to adapt State action to the realities and challenges of the different regions, through a policy based on dialogue, the birthnegotiation, concertation and the search for consensus, ratherthan on obligation and constraint as seen in some countries. The idea is to preserve the coastline with (and for) the local populations, rather than without them or against them. Let us remember that the coast constitutes a specific space, physically limited, ecologically fragile, increasinglymore coveted by competing users and subject to multiple pressures.
