The West African Health Organisation is the specialized Institution of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) responsible for health matters. Since 2014, the organisation has been implementing the "Moving Maternal, Newborn and Child Health Evidence into Policy in West Africa" (MEP) Project with the support of the International Development Research Center (IDRC). The objective of the project is to promote the use of evidence to improve maternal, newborn and child health in West Africa. WAHO is, therefore looking to recruit an individual consultant to monitor and evaluate the project.

The objective of the project is to promote the use of evidence to improve maternal, newborn and child health in West Africa. WAHO is, therefore looking to recruit an individual consultant to monitor and evaluate the project.



The main objective to be pursued by the consultant is facilitating the documentation, monitoring and
evaluation and learning process from the implementation stage.
More specifically, the consultant shall:
Establish the project`s mechanism and tools for monitoring-evaluation and learning,
Monitor and evaluate the project`s activities,
Prepare and coordinate the midterrn and final evaluations of the Moving Evidence into Practice
(MEP) project and the Consortium`s projects,
Document experiences of mutuallearning,
Develop a plan for disseminating outcomes of the MEP project,
Disseminate and handle communication on the findings of the project and the Canadian
Consortium`s Research Teams in West Africa,
Support the Research Teams of the Canadian Consortium in West Africa in the dissemination
of research findings,
Write the quarterly monitoring and evaluation report on the project and research teams.
