Expression of Interest are invited for Recruitment of Eight (8) Animal Surveillance Officers at Counties Level.

The Government of the Republic of Liberia has received financing from the World Bank in
support of the Regional Disease Surveillance Enhancement (REDISSE) Project Phase II and
intends to apply part of the proceeds to recruit eight (8) Animal Surveillance Officers at counties
level under the REDISSE Project. The Animal Surveillance Officers will be assigned in the
following counties: Grand Cape Mount, Montserrado, Bong, Lofa, Nimba, Grand Gedeh, River
Gee and Maryland.
Main Duties and Responsibilities: The County Animal Health Surveillance Officer is
responsible to coordinate animal health surveillance activities within the county. S/he shall work
in close collaboration with community animal health workers identified animal owners, line-list
number of livestock and track associated conditions. The surveillance officer shall also ensure
follow-ups visit on reported cases and/or rumors, sample collection and transportation to central
veterinary laboratory as per criterial-set, follow-up confirmatory testing and provide needed
feedback to affected animal owners and/or community dwellers for appropriate actions. Shall
also provide training to community animal health workers / dwellers to identify signs and
symptoms, recording and reporting. He/she shall provide timely support to case investigation and
attend all organize meeting linked to One Health
Qualifications and Experience
? Holds a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Health and Social Sciences, Environmental
Health and related fields.
? Have a solid professional experience of at least 3 years in animal health service delivery
and knowledgeable to the priorities of OIE Strategies and PVS pathway 2016 report
? Strong knowledge of public health, veterinary and/or para-vets services, social sciences
with capacity in technical documentation
? Have capacity to work with computer and computer software: Microsoft Word, Excel and
Power Point.
