V., based in Niestetal (Germany), intends to award a framework agreement for reburial work in the Republic of Romania and Moldova. The contract is expected to start on May 18, 2026 begin and end on December 31, 2026. The most important goal of the excavation work is to clarify the fate of the recovered German war dead. In order to achieve this goal, the contractor is obliged to open the graves and recover the remains to make exact findings at the grave and to document them in great detail. All available sources of information must be used. This includes local and online archives, contemporary witnesses, and topographical features. Close cooperation with the Moldovan and Romanian authorities and residents must be carried out when recovering war dead.
