The House of the Forest (HdW) in Stuttgart is the competence center for forest education and forest-related education for sustainable development (ESD) in Baden-Wuerttemberg. Part of the AoeR ForstBW since 2020, it fulfills local requirements as part of a statutory educational mandate and a nationwide concept higher-level tasks. Beyond its regional roots, the HdW acts as a driving force for education for sustainable development through projects, qualifications and international cooperation - within Baden-Wuerttemberg and beyond. As part of the implementation competition, this should be the case House of the Forest will be structurally expanded and the contents will be future-oriented. The basis is the concept "Silva Futura" (Forest of the Future) with three closely linked modules, which are to be reflected spatially, creatively and functionally in the competition entries. Central component The competition task is the "Educational Tree" module: an innovative structural structure that opens up the forest floor and the canopy space via at least three accessible themed platforms. It should offer space for a school class (30-50 people), enable intensive nature experiences and sensual, combine emotional and aesthetic levels of perception.
