Tenders are invited for Purchase of Waste Management Equipment for Healthcare Structures (for 48 Vaccination Sites)

1. The Government of Burundi represented by the Ministry of Public Health and the Fight against AIDS has received funding from the World Bank to finance the Preparedness and Response Project to COVID-19 in Burundi - Additional financing "Project COVID -19 FA” and intends to use part of this funding to make payments for the purchase of waste management equipment for health facilities (for 48 vaccination sites) .

2. The Ministry of Public Health and the Fight against AIDS / COVID-19 FA Project invites closed bids from eligible bidders who meet the qualifications required to provide equipment for waste management for the benefit of structures of care.
These materials will be delivered to the Ministry of Public Health and the Fight against AIDS - CAMEBU depot (Burundi Medicines Purchasing Center) / Bujumbura Town Hall. The delivery time is three (03) calendar months. No margin of preference is provided.

3. The procedure will be conducted by national competition by resorting to a Call for Tenders (AO) as defined in the "Regulations applicable to Borrowers - Procurement Regulations for borrowers requesting the financing of investment projects, November 2020 edition, of the World Bank (“the Procurement Rules”), and open to all bidders from eligible countries as defined in the Procurement Rules.

4. Interested and eligible Bidders may obtain information from the General Directorate of Resources of the Ministry of Public Health and the Fight against AIDS and read the Invitation to Tender documents at the address mentioned below. : Secretariat of the General Directorate of Resources of the Ministry of Public Health and the Fight against AIDS, Avenue NGENDANDUMWE n° 4, Tel: +257 22 27 63 04, 22 27 63 07 or 22 27 63 08 located in the premises of the Ministry of Public Health and the Fight against AIDS, "COVID-19 FA Project" every working day from 7.30 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5.30 p.m.

5. Bidding documents in the French language can be obtained by any interested Bidder subject to a non-refundable payment of one hundred thousand Burundian francs (100, 000 FBU) or the equivalent in a convertible currency. Half of this amount (50, 000 FBU) is to be paid into account No. 1101/001.04 opened at the BRB for "non-tax revenue" and the other half (50, 000 FBU) into account No. 02021-0071685- 49 opened at the BCB for the benefit of the Strengthening of Health Care. The tender dossier will be sent to the tenderer on presentation of the payment slips.

6. Tenders must be submitted to the Secretariat of the General Directorate of Resources of the Ministry of Public Health and the Fight against AIDS no later than 05/26/2023 at 10 a.m. local time . Submission of bids electronically “will not” be permitted. Tenders submitted after the above time will not be accepted. Tenders will be opened in the presence of tenderers or their representatives who wish to attend in the meeting room of the Ministry of Public Health and the Fight Against AIDS/IDA Projects on 05/26/2023 at 10:30 a.m. local time .

7. Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security issued by a first-tier Bank for an amount of nine million (9, 000, 000 FBU) Burundian francs or its equivalent in a freely convertible currency.
