OU-5 is designed to extinguish fires of classes B, C and E: flammable liquids, flammable gases and electrical installations without voltage above 1000 V. It is widely used in rooms with valuable materials, such as museums, archives and libraries, due to the absence of traces after use. The OU-5 fire extinguisher has a classic gas-type design: a durable steel body can withstand high pressure, inside there is carbon dioxide, which, when activated, is supplied through a siphon tube and a spray socket. When CO₂ is released, it cools the fire to -72°C and displaces oxygen, which helps stop combustion.
