1. Information on the construction work - General description: The property is used by the state museums in Berlin (SMB) as a custody and exhibition areas as well as for research and office work. Due to the high need for renovation measures, the Foundation Prussian Cultural Ownership (SPK) the Federal Office for Building and Spatial Planning (BBR) commissioned with several projects. In the course of the renovation and content-based measures of component 4 of the museums in Dahlem (functional and facade renovation), the adjacent joint construction of component 4 is now to be renovated. This part of the building is the link to component 2b and the only way to open up the inner development of component 4. In addition to stairs and elevator, the sanitary facilities are also located here. The main strands of the technical building equipment also lead through the joint construction. A renovation in Connection with that of component 4 is therefore essential. The reinforced concrete joint building with glass facade and the adjacent cubic exhibition buildings date from the 1960s. They are part of an overall complex, which has its origins in the 1920s and that planned by Bruno Paul Main building has. The part of the building to be planned is to be renovated and energetically upgraded. Due to its proximity to component 4, examinations and preliminary planning are already available here. The aim of further planning should be to build the joint building based on component 4 and as a unity of the overall complex to renovate. Cooperation with the planning offices of component 4 is a prerequisite due to the many interfaces. The goal is to complete joint completion by June 2029.
