Expression of Interest are invited for Provision of Technical Assistance for the Implementation of Innovative Extension Approaches in Reach Project Communities

The Resilience Against Climate Change Project (REACH) is part of the three interlinked components of the EU Ghana Agriculture Program (i.e., MOAP-NW and Infrastructure projects being the other components) being implemented in the North-West Savannah of Ghana. Its primary objective is to enable a sustainable and inclusive improvement in the rural economy through enhanced implementation of gender sensitive climate adaptation and mitigation measures in 200 selected communities within the JPA (Joint Programme Area). The REACH Project is being implemented by the German Development Corporation (GIZ) through its “Market Oriented Value Addition for jobs and growth in the ECOWAS (MOVE)” Project. Component ii of the REACH Project focuses on community action plan development and improving the knowledge base of agricultural production systems of farmers through the promotion of Conservation Agriculture (CA) and Agroforestry practices. Specifically, the Project aims to improve agricultural production and land management through the promotion of CA techniques and practices. With the goal to increase adoption rates of CA, REACH seeks to improve the agricultural extension system, both in quality and standards of the information available and in the methods of dissemination. As a result, the REACH Project intends to deploy several innovative approaches to agriculture extension to increase the adoption of CA practices with the goal to improve the lives of farmers and rural communities by promoting sustainability, increasing production, and changing conventional farming practices. Thus, the project seeks the help of an expert company to lead the implementation of innovative approaches to agricultural extension delivery in the 200 project communities.
