Provision of a private cloud infrastructure and managed services for IT operations The Lower Bavaria/Upper Palatinate Student Union intends to outsource its IT infrastructure to a private data center as a “private cloud” solution. The servers are housed in the machine room of the data center at the University of Regensburg. Access to the Internet is provided via a fiber optic link from Stadtwerke Regensburg (R-KOM GmbH). The bandwidth is 1G symmetrical. VPN connections still exist to the other student union locations in Passau, Landshut, Deggendorf, Straubing, Cham and Pfarrkirchen, as well as further connections to individual office spaces in the student residences.
