Request for proposals are invited for Provide Long Term Support to Human Resources Unit
Qualifications and requirements
· A master-s degree in human resources management, Labour Law, Business Administration, Psychology or related fields.
· Minimum of 10 years working experience in Human Resources and/or Development.
· Experience in the NGO Sector desirable.
· Experience in the implementation of performance appraisal systems.
· Strong analytical skills, including legal analysis.
· Ability to work in a multicultural context.
· Excellent command of spoken and written English
Scope of work
3.1 To achieve the objectives the following tasks shall be undertaken:
· Review and revise employment contracts.
· Set up and manage a 360-performance appraisal system.
· Review and revise job descriptions.
· Set up and manage confidential HR surveys.
· Set up and manage salary benchmarking.
· Arrange for coaching and training.
· Engage in job grading exercise when needed
· Undertake HR spot checks on an annual basis
Geographically Sonke is currently located in 3 provinces in South Africa, with an office in the Western Cape, one in Gauteng, one in the Eastern Cape and one in Mpumalanga. Sonke has a Wellness Centre based in Gugulethu in Cape Town. In addition, Sonke has an office in Uganda, Cameroon and Lesotho. Sonke currently has a staff compliment of 92 employees across the organisation, with 36 in the Cape Town Office, 27 in the Johannesburg office, 4 in the Eastern Cape, 3 in Mpumalanga and 21 in the region. The gender breakdown in the organisation is sixty-three women and twenty-seven men.
