Expression of Interest are invited for Provide Consultancy for the Development of a Gis-Based Database for Rural Electrification
The specific objectives of this assignment will be as follows:
i. To undertake desk study and stakeholder consultation for purposes of acquiring and
accessing data;
ii. To prepare structured GIS-layered database to support the spatial analysis;
iii. To conduct geospatial identification and characterization of Rural Growth Centres
(RGCs) from The Rural Electrification Master Plan (REMP) and other rural areas outside
the REMP;
iv. To propose methodologies/initiatives to improve GIS capabilities at REA and MOE. This
will include inputting, updating, and maintaining of the GIS database (catalog, inventory,
metadata creation, backup, linkages to other databases);
v. To provide four advanced Arc-GIS licenses to assist in the geospatial planning for rural
electrification
vi. To provide training to REA and MOE staff on geospatial planning, GIS database creation
and maintenance.
The implementation period is twelve (12) months.
