Tenders are invited for Proposed Specialist Rooms at John Kennedy College.

Description of Works to be read in conjunction with Drwg. Nos.: ED785/SR/02 & ED785/SR/03

The project consists of two components “Conversion of existing Art Room to Dress & Textile Room” and “Conversion of existing Activity Room to Food Studies” as per the client-s requirement.

A. “Conversion of existing Art Room to Dress & Textile Room” comprises of the following:


1. Any damage to existing floor to be made good. Floor to be hacked and finished with 600 x 600 x 10mm thick heavy duty non-skid homogeneous ceramic floor tiles to EN 176, EN 14411 & ISO 13006. Skirting - 600 x 150 x 10mm thick ceramic tiles. Colour to Architect's approval.
2. New light partition wall. Refers to details Drwg. No. ED785/SR/07.
3. New aluminium panel doors. Sample, specifications and colour of powder coat to architect's approval. Refer to Drwg. No. ED785/SR/08.
4. Chasing of blockwall to size, making good to rendering and provision of new aluminium door. Refer to Drwg. No. ED785/SR/08.
5. New concrete platform and new ramp to Engineer's details.
6. Provision of double bowl stainless steel sink, worktop for hot plate & cabinet below worktop. Refer to Drwg. No. ED785/SR/05.
7. New White Board. Refer to Drwg. No. ED785/SR/07.
8. New Projector Screen to manufacturer's specifications & Architect's approval. Provision for ceiling mounted projector.
9. New Pin Board. Refer to Drwg. No. ED785/SR/07.
10. New Shelves. Refer to Drwg. No. ED785/SR/05.
11. New Timber Platform. Refer to Drwg. No. ED785/SR/07.
12. Existing SDB to be replaced as per Electrical Engineer (ESD).
13. All movable furniture, accessories, electrical appliances, hot plate, pressing units, overlock machines, trolley for it, tables, chairs, wardrobe, etc. to be provided by client.
14. Existing metal door to be removed and handed over to the client. Chasing of existing blockwall to size, making good to rendering and provision of new aluminium door. Refer to Drwg. No. ED785/SR/08.
15. Existing naco openings to be made good where required and broken window panes to be replaced.
16. New gas shed. Refer to Drwg. No. ED785/SR/09.
17. All internal walls & ceilings to be re-painted with 1 undercoat + 2 coats of pure acrylic emulsion paint. Colour to Architect's approval.
18. Any existing damaged rendering, structure or any damage caused to existing structure, equipment, materials, etc to be made good by contractor.
19. All existing movable furniture and re-usable items to be handed over to the client.
20. Review of associated electrical works including re-wiring, new fittings, fire alarm, air-conditioning, extractor, wall fans, etc. as per Electrical Engineer (ESD) & Client's requirement.
21. Provision of all piping including water supply, waste, floor traps, connection to covered drain, soakaways, gas installations, etc. as per Mechanical Engineer.
22. Any other associated auxiliary works.
B. “Conversion of existing Activity Room to Food Studies” comprises of the following:

1. Any damage to existing floor to be made good. Floor to be hacked and finished with 600 x 600 x 10mm thick heavy duty non-skid homogeneous ceramic floor tiles to EN 176, EN 14411 & ISO 13006. Skirting - 600 x 150 x 10mm thick ceramic tiles. Colour to Architect's approval.

7. New White Board. Refer to Drwg. No. ED785/SR/07.
8. New Projector Screen to manufacturer's specifications & Architect's approval. Provision for ceiling mounted projector.
9. New Pin Board. Refer to Drwg. No. ED785/SR/07.
10. New Shelves. Refer to Drwg. No. ED785/SR/05.
11. New Timber Platform. Refer to Drwg. No. ED785/SR/07.
12. New Lockers. Refer to Drwg. No. ED785/SR/06.
13. All movable furniture, accessories, electrical appliances, hot plate, oven, microwave oven, fridge, trolley for it, tables, loose tables, chairs, etc. to be provided by client.
14. Existing metal glazed door & top lights to be removed and handed over to the client. Proposed new concrete column, chasing of existing blockwall to size, making good to existing rendering and provision of new aluminium openings. Refer to Drwg. No. ED785/SR/08. Etc.
