The specific objectives are:
To conduct a situation analysis and determine the human, material and infrastructural needs for a basic capacity for vector surveillance of an institute in each country;
To provide theoretical knowledge and field practices on entomological methods and techniques;
To recommend the type and amount of basic entomological equipment and supply that should be made available to each institute to enable it to carry out routine vector surveillance; and
To collect entomological data while conducting the field and the laboratory training.
