Description Project Refill 1. Stadtwerke Leipzig GmbH (hereinafter “Stadtwerke Leipzig)” is the municipal supplier for electricity, gas and heat supply in Leipzig. The Leipzig public utilities operate several thermal power plants in Leipzig, including this GUD heating power plant north, the HKW south, several combined heat and power plants and heating plants that supply the Leipzig district heating network with heat. The Leipzig public utilities supply around a third of Leipzig's residents via the approximately 500 kilometer long district heating network with warmth. The electricity, gas and district heating network required for this is operated by the client (a subsidiary of Stadtwerke Leipzig). Due to the efforts in Leipzig to be climate neutral by 2040, the existing ones should Infrastructures need to be rethought. A first step towards this is the phase-out of coal and the associated end of the supply of heat from the Lippendorf power plant.
