The study includes the security analysis of various migration procedures for database systems. Relevant migration strategies should be explained and the risks involved in a migration analyzed and described and security requirements derived. The migration from a proprietary to an open source database system and the migration from an on-premises to a database system operated in the cloud will be considered. Requirements that must be met for migration should be derived for all security risks. Furthermore, a practical implementation of a migration to an open source database system and to the cloud should take place. The aim is to check the theoretically described migration strategies and security requirements for their technical feasibility, effectiveness and practical suitability.
