Notice for Invitation for Prequalification of Contractors
1. Project Name: Procurement of Plant, design, Supply, Installation and Commissioning with Significant Environmental and Social Impact for the Establishment of 400 kV Transmission Line between Masaka and Mbarara Substations and its terminal bays.

2. The Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Ltd (UETCL) has applied for a financing from the Agence Française de Développement (the French Development Agency) and Kreditanstalt fur Wiederaufbau (KfW) towards the cost of Establishment of Plant, Design, Supply, Installation and Commissioning with Significant Environmental and Social Impact for the Establishment of 400 kV Transmission Line between Masaka and Mbarara Substations and its terminal bays. It is intended that part of the proceeds of these funds will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for the Establishment of 400 kV Transmission Line between Masaka and Mbarara Substations and their corresponding terminal bays.
3. The UETCL, Uganda now invites sealed bids for pre-qualification of eligible bidders for the construction and completion of design, supply, installation and successful commissioning of 400kV transmission line components such as towers, conductors and earthwires, insulators, foundations and 220 kV bays (two each) at Masaka and Mbarara having outdoor switchgear, protection panels, structures etc for terminating the 400kV lines for initial charging at 220kV (“the Works”).
4. 5. A complete set of prequalification documents may be purchased by interested eligible bidders on the submission of a written application to the above and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of equivalent of USD 100 or UGX. 370, 000 per set of Application document, upon which UETCL will send a full soft copy of the prequalification documents. Method of payment will be by cash deposit to the following Bank Accounts in names of Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited at the following Banks:. (UGX Barclays Bank - Corporate Branch Account No. 6002166559 and USD Standard Chartered Bank-Speke Road Branch Account No.8705610780000
6. Completed Prequalification (Application) document must be delivered to the above office on or before 11:00AM on 11th November 2020 and must be accompanied by all supporting documents as mentioned in the document.
7. Successful/short-listed applicants will be notified after receipt of all approvals by the office of The Principal Procurement Officer, UETCL, Second Floor (Annex Building), Plot No12, Hannington Road, Kampala, Uganda.
